So it’s true, we’re canceling our July tour.

The other night we were at practice and Dan revealed to us that he had a hernia. Shortly after we discovered that we could make hockey sticks out of old window blinds, cardboard and duct tape. So that’s what we’re going to do instead of going on tour. Why go on the road when you’ve found the absolutely most productive and fun thing possible in your own practice space?:

In all seriousness, Dan does have a hernia and is getting it taken care of. He’s expecting a speedy recovery and we’ll be ready to go in time for Wicker Park Fest! Also, we have something in the works with our good friends from Louisville, so we may be visiting a living room down there soon!

We have a busy month ahead of us and we’re excited to share with you the products of it. PLEASE be sure to go see our good friends My Heart To Joy on tour, we’re super bummed we won’t be them. They’re some of the best dudes ever, are an amazing band and have the best tour lingo I’ve ever heard. Also, they make a great gear joke, please go support them.

Since myspace is a bummer we’re going to start updating this more, even from home. You’ll regret it, but you might find a humorous post every once and a while.

For those of you who aren’t from Northwest Indiana, we have a really awesome cafe in town where Dan works. It’s called Blackbird Cafe and we’ve put on a few shows there, most recently our tour send off with This Town Needs Guns.

Tonight Maps and Atlases played a surprise show at Blackbird for some close friends and family:

Afterwards Dave Davison challenged us to a game of hockey so this weekend it’s going down.

We went back to Nave and Ed’s house and Killer had fun with the cat:

The cat had fun too.

Anyway we’ll keep this updated as much as possible with tid bits about what’s going on. Pretty much the only thing that’s going to be going on is street hockey, so you can save yourself the time.

But seriously, thanks for all your get well wishes! We promise to make it out to the west coast again soon!
