Well we hit the road last weekend and went down to Cincinnati to break up the monotony of sitting at home and fighting with Dave Summers (not that it’s ever boring).
MidPoint Festival was going on and we were lucky enough to be playing the Vitamin Water Stage at the Contemporary Arts Center. We even got some carts to load our gear in:

Our stage for the night:

The building was seriously awesome:

Meanwhile, while I was walking around the building snapping pictures like a tourist, my band mates were out on the town trying to park our van. It was then that they saw no other than Jim Ross step out of a taxi cab. Immediately Dan and Nave started yelling to grab his attention. Keep in mind that Dan was driving, and at this point was completely turned around in the drivers seat, yelling out the window. Ed, who was disinterested with the situation then observed that Dan was driving onto a sidewalk and heading straight for a light pole. After being alerted of the disaster ahead, Dan corrected, still turned around in his seat. He then started heading into the opposite lane and almost hit oncoming traffic. Some how, my bandmates escaped scratch free and lived to tell me this amazing story. I should actually stop now, because nothing else I will post in here will top that, except maybe a photo of JR:

ANYWAY, we got to hang with our good friend Sarah Standley who’s now on the road with Fang Island. Go see them and her, and heckle them roundly. Sarah sold everyone’s merch while we got bloated on Vitamin Water:

After the gig we went and stayed with our best buddy Ben Sears. Expect to see Ben out on the road with us soon, and beware of his sharp tongue:

Found some gas station popcorn and washed it down with some creme soda:

Another great story: Got to South Bend. I got out of the van, was about to ask Nave to throw me my camera. Before I can finish he throws me my keys. The keys bounce off my hand, hit the ground and slide over the edge down into a barely noticeable. The hole drops into the sewers of South Bend. That’s all she wrote:

Ed went to the bathroom, locked the door and then left the bathroom. Adequate Michael then tried going in there with no luck, so Dan decided to try to break in with his signature move (think back to our Canadian border story):

Overall it was a super fun weekend. Great to see some friends and JR. Hopefully he’ll follow us on Twitter now.
